medical mystery will hopefully soon be resolved.

My husband had spinal decompression on a nerve back in 2010 and made excellent recovery. But just over a week ago he started suddenly having leg/hip pain that has rapidly increased. We were in his neurosurgeon's office today. Doc doesn't think it's related to the spinal situation. So we're off to an orthopedic surgeon Wednesday. Hubby may end up getting an MRI; we'll see.

Here is what I find puzzling: I asked the neurosurgeon if there was a possibility that he had had an injury during his gym workouts. He asked about what exercises hubby did and if he had taken a fall. Since none of this was the problem, the doc says the problem is "wear and tear, related to the aging process."

I got home and started to wonder. It's of course too late to ask but I thought of stress fractures that people get from running, altho hubby doesn't run. So I'll ask the ortho guy when we see him, but I do wonder why it wasn't even mentioned.

It's pretty alarming to see hubby get so progressively worse so quickly...
