Was Wellstone correct: Fundies and Nazi's share hate speech?

Hate speech and scape goating against a select and distinct minority are not new entities on the political horizon or the world stage.

Indeed, many similarities exist in tactics, strategy, language and philosophy between those who, today, scapegoat gays and assault them in public forums and on the media and other more well known and well practiced scape-goaters such as the Nazi party of the world war II era.

What is so alarming is the intensity, bold faced openness, and casual acceptance of homophobic hate speakers who gain public tolerance and in many cases a winking acceptance in the name of “patriotism,” “family values,” and “morality.”

These hate mongers are well funded and have been plying their agenda for over a decade- behind the scenes, in front of congress, in church lecture halls,on talk radio shows, and in written propaganda. The volume of this message is so staggering that even if the most blatant lies are disregarded the more subtle forms of bigotry seep into cultural thinking like acid and sear and corrupt the hearts of good and fair Americans.

The first step in dealing with this pernicious hate and bigotry is admitting it exists and understanding it’s true depth and perniciousness.

The second step is self education. Understanding their message in order to counter the lies and knowing who the players are in order to expose them and hold them accountable to a moderate, and generally fair and open minded nation.

Here is a site that compares today’s anti-gay scape-goating purveyors of fear and the anti-gay rhetoric and ideology of the Third Reich also known for it’s self righteous persecution of innocent people and for spending enormous time and resources on exterminating and isolating certain segments of society.

Are you surprised that certain elements form this bigoted political action group appeared in front of congress with a clear anti-gay agenda?

Are you surprised that it goes back as far as 1994?

How much money do you think this fear mongering brings into their coffers?

How many votes does it get them?

Can someone show me where in the New Testament Christ spoke about persecuting gays and espoused intolerance?

Does anyone who quotes Leviticus and the Mosaic law against homosexuality not remember that Jesus brought a new message of love and tolerance and that the New Testament is an answer and a new era following the Old Testament?The God of fire and brim stone was replaced by the God of love.
