27. I say thanks
Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 02:34 PM by Marnieworld
I do not believe in God/Gods but I'm not an asshole about it. I know that anyone saying this is only trying to be nice in the way that they are familiar with. I think I have actually used the phrase myself once or twice when feeling extreme gratitude (you just saved my dog from oncoming traffic or something) because I am trying to communicate and perhaps that phrase will do it.

To hear it in your case, smile and say thanks of course since you are working. If another time you hear it and the circumstances permit or encourage a more honest response (I don't really understand what that means but I wish you well also) or snarky (may the Spaghetti monster touch you with his noodly appendage)than go for what you feel comfortable.

I guess my babbling points to, the phrase makes me feel left out but what else is new? :hi:

on edit:
link to my own recent post about this phrase which in another context I have a completely different feel.
:P
