123. Perhaps another hidden message...
Hi, I'm new to this group. I thought I'd put my two cents in. After watching Kerry's interview, I think I read something in it that may not have been noticed. A few people have mentioned that Kerry said if there was a 50,000 vote difference things might have been different. I think what may have happened is that Kerry/Edwards thought (hoped?) that the vote in Ohio was going to be even closer than it turned out to be (like Florida 2000). I think that maybe they thought there was going to be an automatic recount in Ohio. I read online somewhere that Ohio law makes a recount mandatory if one candidate loses by one half of one percent. I'm not much at math but I figure that if about 50,000 of Ohio's vote had gone to Kerry instead of Bush then the percentage would have been pretty close. Maybe close enough for an automatic recount. Maybe that's why Edwards said that it wouldn't be over until every vote was counted. If there had been an automatic recount then Kerry would not have looked like he was trying to spoil the election.

Anyway, that's one possibility that I thought of. The Moderate Independent has an interesting article about how Kerry really is still in the fight.
