Please consider asking your organization to endorse the recently released document, "Principles and Best Practices for Post-Election Audits" found at: /. This document was developed to guide states as they write new or improved post-election audit regulations. It was developed by an ad hoc group of state and national election integrity leaders, statisticians, election officials, computer scientists and political scientists.

Post-election audits are a key component in assuring accurate election outcomes, yet few states have effective audit laws. A broad demonstration of support for this document will provide added momentum for it to become an effective tool in drafting new, effective audit regulations. Organizations that have endorsed the document so far include: American Statistical Association, Verified Voting, Brennan Center for Justice and Common Cause. We are seeking support from a broad range of non-partisan organizations.

We hope your organization will endorse this document. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Mark Halvorson
Director, Citizens for Election Integrity Minnesota

Pamela Smith
President, Verified Voting

Mark Lindeman
Assistant Professor of Political Studies
Bard College

Dan McCrea
President, Florida Voters Foundation
