a nearby city has approved paying for the construction of a new "back-up" powerplant which will provide no jobs (though it's touted as economic development) and no back up power to the very city that's building it (though it's touted as necessary for such) and approved it in violation of open meeting laws. But, it's a city whose government machine would match Daley's Chicago, so no surprise there. Unfortunately, there just weren't enough good guys on the city council to stop it.

But other than that, things are suddenly pretty quiet in my county. We ran a chunk of pukes/anti-government libertarians out of the county courthouse in April and slowly things are returning to normal.
