Maybe some DUers didn't see this the first time I posted it. He also voted for Supreme Court nominee John Roberts, who said that courts should have a 'limited role' in intruding in the other branches of government (like upholding a woman's right to choose), as well as the rights of states (like striking down slavery and segregation laws, I'm sure) and then went ahead and voted to overturn Oregon's "Death w/Dignity Act". Luckily 6 other SCOTUS judges didn't fall for the same hypocritical bullshit, and Roberts was in the minority. That doesn't free Chafee from his accountability for voting for a complete hypocrite, however.
