but he was being thrown about as a US Senate candidate and his polling was going to have beaten Chafee, except that he was anti-choice, so bloggers, NARAL Pro-Choice and NOW alike all worked together to convince Dems he was not the right candidate even if Chafee held a slim lead over Whitehouse or Brown.
