and trying to play the victim card already. Things must be going really bad, really quickly for him.

Yet the final Democratic canidiate is going to get the Rove/Thune treatment the other way. The playing field is already being set.

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Mark Kennedy, the leading Republican U.S. Senate candidate from Minnesota, said Tuesday that he fears he might be the target of a "dirty tricks" campaign and challenged Democrats to disclose whether they have illegally obtained personal data about him.

In a letter to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), Kennedy's campaign cited reports that two Democratic researchers illegally obtained a personal credit report on Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, also a Republican Senate candidate.

The letter notes that Kennedy is ranked "the number one Republican pick-up opportunity in the country" by the National Journal.

As such, he said in an interview, "if they're doing dirty tricks on the No. 2 prospect (Steele), the fear that I have that they're also illegally going after my personal information is something that needs to be put to bed."
