It takes a lot of courage to ask people to pay more taxes so that General Motors, Ford, and DaimlerChrysler dont have to pay their fair share. I mean, just because its 40% of the state budget were talking about, and they use the roads, too, and like having educated workers is no reason for them not to get a free ride, right? It is indeed better for the people of Michigan to shoulder more of the burden in the way of increased sales taxes, gas taxes, property taxes, and income taxes so that their stockholders can make more money. I mean, when I go to buy a car, and pay 6% sales tax now, thats going to seem like the good old days when Im paying 12% to cover the shortfall in the state budget his plan is going to create.

How brave of Dick DeVos to suggest RAISING TAXES FOR EVERYONE IN MICHIGAN it might be one of the stupidest ideas in creation, but at least he had the guts to say it.

(So, what do you think? Will this argument work on the folks who only listen to the sound bytes? And is it an accurate representation of the pitfalls of his plan?)
