What a fantastic tribute to such a wonderful woman. I grew up in Detroit and was eleven year's-old when Maryann Mahaffey was first elected to City Council. My parents absolutely adored and respected the woman, and as I got older I completely understood why.
She will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to have her as their council person.
