How on earth does Romney help McCain in Michigan?

All I hear from these pundits on TV is how Romney would help McCain win Michigan. It makes no sense to me.

1. Romeny's father was Governor and he was born here yeah. Yet all this was over 40 years ago. How many people in Michigan even remember his Dad's time in office that are still alive, or even still live in Michigan? That's like saying Bush would win Connecticut because he was born there. There is a reason why Romney chose to stay in Massachusetts and not move back to Michigan and run for Governor.

2. The Repukes ran a businessman for Governor just 2 years ago and he lost by 15%. People are losing their jobs left and right and having to work at jobs that are below their skill level and pay less. Michiganders didn't go for a businessman for Governor what makes these fools in D.C. and New York think they'd go for one as Vice-President. Mitt Romney is just another Dick DeVos and the Democrats would paint him as such. Only difference is Romney has more hair.

3. Michigan has voted for the Democratic nominee in the last 4 election cycles. Michigan has a twice elected Democratic Governor, and two Democratic Senators. Along with a majority in the state legislature.

4. Romney is a flip flopper on abortions and gun control. As we all know Rupukes in this state love their guns. Romney supported gun control laws while he was Governor of Massachusetts. If those 1994 debates of him and Ted Kennedy where he talks about supporting gun control are put in attack ads, that in not going to turn on Michigan Repukes and make them run to the polls.

5. The Repukes only focused on Michigan for one week. The week before the primary. Romney came here and lied about jobs coming back and then left. A longer campaign would give the Democrats the chance to attack Romney which his Repuke opponets didn't have the chance to do during the primary since they only focused on Michigan the week before the primary and had to save money to use in other primary states.

6. And most importantly, people don't vote for Vice-Presidents. Just look at Dan Quayle for proof of that.
