Daughter of Publix founder and her hubby contributed $100,000 to the Repub Natl Committee.

The Republican National Committee got a big boost from Lakelanders Barney Barnett and Carol Jenkins Barnett to the tune of $100,000, contribution records show. Barney Barnett, vice chairman of Publix Super Markets Inc., contributed $50,000 and Carol Barnett also donated $50,000 to the party. She is the daughter of Publix founder George Jenkins, and is the president of Publix Super Markets Charities. The contributions are posted at www.fundrace.org.
