28. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand this point. They didn't even put
single payer on the table. From the beginning the liberals/progressives were shut out of the debate. The public option IS the compromise. And still, it looks like the liberals in the House are compromising the compromise. While I understand why they are doing so, even being asked to compromise further, after they have already given the Blue Dogs and Republicans concession after concession, is ridiculous to me.

We need to take money out of the political process. As long as there is no meaningful, comprehensive campaign finance reform, the liberals/progressives will always have to settle and compromise.

I'm sick and tired of it, too. Why is it that neither the Blue Dogs nor the DLCers are ever asked to compromise? It's always the loyal base. They take for granted that we'll always be there...and we'll always be ready to compromise.

That's why I left the Democratic Party years ago. Looks like I'm headed back out of the door again if things don't change.
