319. Welcome! Robert Kennedy once said that 80% of Republicans

are just uneducated Democrats. (No uneducated as in stupid, but merely uninformed about policies and politics) The more people learn about what the Republican Party really stands for (and the dark, hateful side you've reference here is certainly its seamy underbelly) the more they are apt to reject such hatred, bigotry and lack of compassion and join the Democratic Party.

One is the party of powerful corporations and special interests. The other is the party of the people.

Of course there are many who linger in limbo as decline to state or who join a third party, and that is understandable too.

At any rate, welcome to DU.
