For context, part A, note the date stamp on these stories. For context, part B, note that the two main GOP lines of attack in that race were "Hatch is too emotionally unstable for the job" and "Hatch doesn't have as strong a grasp of policy as Pawlenty."

When both members of your ticket decide to completely validate everything your enemies have said about you days before the election, then it's fair to say you had a lousy campaign.
