For a couple weeks, this election has looked like a massive landslide. McCain is simply behind in too many 2004 red states in order to cross that line of 270. And the national polls were all in the 4,6, 8, 10 range. Even some today are 10 points. It still looks like a landslide to me.

But then you get IDB/TIPP showing a one-point race. And the AP has it a one-point race. How can polls differ that much? Does it really come down to weighting and sampling?
