I just voted for Hillary in the NC primary! This is all so exciting and wonderful!

I just got back from voting! I even got my sticker! I couldn't believe it. Every booth was full. I have never had to wait before. The people were so kind. They asked if it was my first time (because I'm in the younger demographic) and I smiled and told them no but that I couldn't believe the turn out.

I am so proud of my state right now! It feels awesome, for one day only, to live in NC! I don't care if people are voting for Barack (who will probably win) or Hillary! It is just so wonderful that people are voting and actually CARE! This is what America is all about, and it just makes me beam!

One of the volunteers at the polling place looked to be my age, and I saw a couple of other people my age walking in as I was leaving. It's rare to see young people vote in my county since it's rather rural and filled with mostly baby boomers! They're probably voting for Obama... but they're VOTING! I hope this leads to a huge turn out in the GE. Usually I feel like the only person in my circle that cares about politics and how it can shape and change society. I took notes on all the local candidates, and which ones were endorsed by Equality-NC, and so on... and usually my friends think I am so dumb to waste my time on it. But that isn't the way it is looking today. Today it looks like people care, like people want to heard, like maybe they woke and realized that this stuff might not be such a dumb waste of time after all.

Whether you vote for Clinton or Obama, check in! I think both of the candidates are good candidates. Revel with me on how wonderful it feels to participate in this democracy that we are so lucky to have... and how wonderful it is to finally see others so enthusiastic!
