11. I didn't say "Shut up"

But there are more productive ways to help the Democratic agenda than smashing our candidate into bits so that he hasn't a prayer in hell in November because everyone who has listened to you now thinks he's a jagoff.

That strategy gives us four more years of Bush, and to me that is a stupid strategy for any self-professed liberal to follow.

Instead of attacking Kerry, why aren't you using all this energy to attack Bush and his cronies, or possibly working on a local candidates campaign to get a Democrat in there.

And if you don't want to do that, and you don't like the Democrats that are running or at all for that matter, why are you on Democratic Underground at all?

Sure I may not have the same post count as you (although I have been here since 2002 so don't think I'm new just because I don't post a ton), but I was made a mod because Skinner had confidence in my judgment.

In that spirit I wish you would as well. I am not attacking you. I know not all of us are gung ho Kerry guys. And during this campaign he's playing center-right to get the swing voters. Of course Bush played center-left in 2000 and then he was elected and unveiled his real agenda and we can only hope that we swing far left when Kerry's in.

But stop going around thrashing the guy all of us support as our candidate. Help the Democratic cause, don't hurt it. And hell, there has to be something positive in your area you can post about as well. Take that energy and help us get more Dems elected at home because it helps us all Nationally as well.

Being productive with that energy is far superior to being negative and tearing down the leader of our cause at the moment. Kerry may not be 100% far left, but there's just no way to say he's as bad as the alternative.

We need to win this thing, more than ever. I just wish you were totally on our side instead of ripping apart our only shot to take our Presidency back.
