6. No, it's a stupid point....
this isn't about a preacher far removed saying a few dumb things. This is about someone who was a mentor and friend to obama for 20 years, someone who was his "spiritual compass", someone Obama went to for advise in making political decisions, someone who preaches hate. Not in any way shape or form is it acceptable for a pastor to say God damn America. First of all, it's completely un-Christian to ask God to damn anyone and it is un-American.

I walked out of a church for a racist remark made by a deacon. I was 17 years old and walked out by myself. It was a small, southern town of 5,000 people. I took a lot of heat for it (especially since the deacon worked with my dad for years) but I did it. It's called having the courage of your convictions. If Obama is willing to sit and listen to this racist stuff for 20 years then he has NO business saying he is the candidate of UNITY.

To say that it is hypocritical of Obama is a major understatement.

As for you staying in a church that is totally against something so basic and fundamental as abortion and homosexuality, I have to say in no way can I respect that. No church who preaches discrimination against ANYONE, be it women, Blacks, or homosexuals or anyone else will EVER get my support and my attendance. If you're ok doing it that's your business but I have no respect for that choice whatsoever. When people stop supporting this kind of discrimination by leaving and removing their support, then AND ONLY THEN will it stop. So you choosing to stay in no way explains or excuses Obama because I think you are as wrong as he is.
