But if you want to get real specific about it. His choice of words where rather clever. The "I was tied up thing". Good one.

The only thing that detracted from them was:

A. The "timing" was off on the delivery. McCain is far from being any sort of accomplished humorist.

B. It was obviously contrived before hand. Off the cuff remarks are just that, off the cuff. That's what makes them funny. they are spontaneous. Not what we see here.

But he obviously has some creative people working for him. Too bad he's not quite as inventive in creating a platform that inspires more Americans.
