27. It's Don Sherwood, not Shorewood -- some information and links
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 03:08 PM by Jim Lane
On edit: I searched for "Sherwood" and thought you'd missed him, so I wrote this addition. I'll leave it up in case anyone wants to check the links.

In 2004, police answered a 911 call to the apartment of Rep. Don Sherwood (R-Pa.) and found a woman who accused him of choking her. Sherwood said he was merely giving her a back rub. No charges were filed. Sherwood, who was then 63 and was married with three children, denied any sexual involvement with the 28-year-old woman. Later, however, he admitted that they had had an affair for about five years. (See in PDF.)

Despite Sherwood's conduct, his campaign in the Republican primary was bolstered by recorded phone calls to voters from such family values stalwarts as Rick () and the Fratboy-in-Chief himself ().

Sherwood is running for re-election. His Democratic opponent is U.S. Navy veteran Chris Carney: http://www.carneyforcongress.com/
