NEW YORK (Reuters) -- The wife of former Tyco International Ltd. Chief Executive Dennis Kozlowski has filed for divorce and is asking the court to protect her share of a Florida mansion, court papers show.

Karen Kozlowski, once the honoree at a $2 million birthday party that came to symbolize the excess of her husband's lifestyle, filed the divorce petition on July 31 in Palm Beach County, Florida.

n the papers, she asks the court to equitably distribute the couple's assets and liabilities and asks that gifts given to her by her husband be declared marital property.

She also asks the court to put a lien on the couple's Boca Raton mansion and adjoining property and requests alimony.
