6. The Republicans are still under the illusion that the Dems have to DO
Something. When in fact, they may not need to do nearly as much as the Repugs suspect. The Repugs are spontaneously combusting as we speak. Even with no other major news stories for the rest of the year, we still get to look forward to:

- Abraham's revelations which could bring down lots of the Repug leadership

- Frist's SEC charges being filed

- Whatever Fitzgerald has up his sleeve

- More Repug dirty deals will no doubt be exposed (FAA sold to China?)

- Repugs fighting each other in an attempt to salvage political careers

And who knows what else, these are just a few of the many things that will be newsworthy in the months ahead.

The Dems could probably do nothing but shake their heads in disgust and disbelief, then open their arms to welcome the flood of displaced and disenfranchised Repugs fleeing in search of honest leadership.

But I do think it would help if the Democrats got a message.

A single message.

And a single spokesperson, a figurehead for the Democratic Party. Someone non-confrontational, and someone accomplished in making speeches. Howard Dean would be good, so would John Edwards. Or Russ Feingold. Wes Clark perhaps?
