18. Carter and Clinton belong to a very exclusive....
....club. Ex-presidents. And they usually have a different perspective on such things. Mainly that they have to assume, and wrongly in this case usually, that the current president knows more than they do.....mainly because they KNOW that when THEY were in office, they DID know more than everyone else. Of course the difference is that THEY usually, if not always, had the countries best interest at heart....not the best interests of the oil producing countries that the Bush's have close relationships with. I also believe that being classy ex-presidents, that they want to at least give the APPEARANCE of giving Bush the benefit of the doubt.

I DO wish that they would just say nothing, if they feel that way, but asking an ex to keep his mouth shut is not the easiest thing to accomplish.
