The Star Spangled Banner does not equal I Love the Bush Government

You can love a lot of things about America (because there is a whole lot to love) and still curse the Far Right extremists who are running the federal government. You can still curse the injustice and intolerance too.

I think some of you are just tired and frustrated, maybe you need to get your batteries charged and get your heads back on straight. If you didn't love America you wouldn't think it was worth fighting for, and you wouldn't be so angry about the direction the country is going. The opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy.

Personally the pomp of the national anthem is a little too much for me, but I always stand out of respect... but I don't sing. I'm a bad singer.

(does this sound too nationalistic? it's not supposed to. I want to make this a better world, starting wih my own country)
