Wanted by GOP: Pregnant White Woman in Tragic Circumstances

Here's my prediction of how they'll go about this.

They'll build from "Laci and Connor's law," aka the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act." They need some heart-wrenching national news story that brings one more case up to the Supreme Court, with plenty of the sort of media coverage we saw for Chandra, Laci, Terri, Natalee, etc.

I'm no legal scholar, but perhaps it might involve a pregnant woman (white, pretty) who survives an attack trying to charge a man with murder of the fetus rather than merely "increased penalties." Something like that. Or perhaps the child is harmed in utero and is born with a tragic result.

Once they decide an "unborn child," no matter what the stage of development, is a citizen with rights under the Constitution, Roe is over. That's what they're looking for, but they'll want to drag it out over a long period of time to keep the public fighting over it. And I think they'd like it to go back to the states for plenty of local uproar and division.

What do you think?
