Here party reps run only once every four years, right after the presidential election. You have to be an elected member to vote or even speak: $15 won't do it. You also must have been an elected member as of the summer of 2004 to vote in the Jan. 2005 election, that was only grudgingly announced at the end of the Dec. meeting by the Chair when she was pressed on it.
I submitted my application last week. When I applied in Nov. I was told no applications were being accepted until Jan. Now I must wait four more years to vote on representatives at the COUNTY level. There they choose members to vote at the state level.
Some Democracy, huh?
