...and wait for the troll police to tombstone you, but dammit, sometimes the smell of blood in the water is just too much to resist.

Now you've stated that the injustices heaped upon the Palestinians by Israel for multiple generations are justified because they made bad choices and didn't support the people who oppressed them, killed them, stole their land, and thumbed their noses at international resolutions condemning their ethnic cleansing? Oh my. That they DESERVE their life in the ghetto under Israeli boot heels because they weren't gracious enough to lick the boot that oppresses them? They deserve injustice because they LOST?

Dude! That is brilliant! Utterly soul-less and demented, but brilliant nonetheless. It's irrefutable! It's so beyond any logic, not to mention decency, that even attempting to refute it leads one onto thin ice where any argument must start by accepting the unacceptable. It's like answering the question "Do you still beat your wife?" No discussion can occur without some basic agreement about the premises, but your premise is unconscionable.

This is, of course, essentially the same argument used to justify the colonial white man's burden everywhere. The WOGs deserve their plight because we shat upon them so easily. Any injustice is warranted, because they lost!

Mark Twain expressed it nicely:

"O Lord our God, us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it -- for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
