14. Juan Cole spoils what might otherwise be good points by expressing xenopobic lies

'when the Israeli Right wants a war nowadays, they usually want our children to fight and die in it for them.'

What evidence is there for that? No non-Middle-Eastern troops have been involved in *any* war involving Israel since Suez over 50 years ago; no American troops have *ever* been thus involved. It would be bad enough, under these circumstances to say that the Israeli Right wants American children to fight and die *with* them; to use the preposition *for* them implies an acceptance of the indescribably vile right-wing view that Israel is forcing other countries to sacrifice lives for them, while they sit back. Usually it implies that the writer thinks that the Iraq war is being fought for Israel, which is an evil, xenophobic, right-wing lie.

I do agree that Netanyahu is a nasty and dangerous man, and that it is particularly disgusting that 'He is willing to ally with Avigdor Lieberman, an open racist who is gunning for the 20 percent of Israel's citizen population that is Palestinian. '
