a quest to reclaim Jerusalem in the name of Christ and remove the "infidels" (read, Mohammedists) who had taken over the Holy City. Men, rich and poor, left their lands in Europe and traveled to do battle in the name of God. I can see a similar pattern in this call for action in 2007.
