But as I wrote, when a candidate travels across the country he/she will find other "Philly Cheesesteak incidents". These are nothing more than 'Rites of Passages' to see if the candidate passes muster and fits in with the local folks.

It would have been better for Kerry to have skipped the whole thing than to go there and have no clue how to order or eat the sandwich. I'm sure there were other Dem candidates who skipped it when they were in Philly and none of them are making negative press in Philly like Kerry is.
