but the Repubs have been dying for 2.5+ years for this. If the shoe was on the other foot and this was a Democratic Party debate and there was a McCain type in office - wouldn't the base at least be watching?

Add to that the whole Prez Obama rescheduling hullabaloo, they must have been feeling at least a little bit cocky.. I don't know, I find it odd. And it only feeds the "this is my team" stereotype in politics, and it worries me a little bit.

The divisions are only becoming more stark, who can with a straight face call themselves an Independent this day and age? And I don't mean it by party affiliation but by political ideology..
