25. You are right, times have changed
We agree on that.

Actually, the one time I was gassed, the cops were so stupid, they accidentally gassed themselves. And, it was totally unprovoked. Yes, I've seen cops go off for absolutetly no reason, and good people get hurt.

That will happen again in NYC, and my heart breaks over it.

You know, I got so much more out of your last post than the other ones. Thank you for taking the time to post it.

My hope is that the NYC police are well trained, and equipped to the degree that they feel comfortable and not threatened. I think this is half the game, really. If they know they can neutralize a situation, it will help keep things from getting out of control. You may not see my logic here, and I guess we all have to wait to see how things play out.

I also hope that, as in the past, there are protest organizers trained in nonviolent approaches to crowd control and who know how to manage things if they begin to get out of hand.

That won't stop the "anarchists" who are on the Rove payroll, and determined to break the windows of every Starbucks in sight. It's just a shame that things have escalated to this point.

However, I do think that NYC will be different from Miami and Savannah. This is not the south. And Jeb is not in charge, thank God. And New Yorkers will not tolerate the kind of shit that went down in Miami without making sure the world knows what really happened.

If you're there, be safe. But I wish the marbles would all stay at home.
