39. You're right; it's not something to laugh about. We should be DISGUSTED by it.
My cousin's daughter, a religious NUT, didn't finish high school (I hope she got her GED) & she home-schooled her three kids for a few years before she decided she couldn't handle it anymore.

Well-rounded kids need structure, social interaction with their peers, & to learn how to deal with a wide range of personalities. Most important, their education should be provided by those adults who have been through years of their own education to learn how to be successful as educators.

Oh, brother.
