I got lucky and it was a slow night. I probably spend at least an hour in the waiting room before going back - the 45 minutes was after I'd actually been put on a bed. It was a regional (pretty much neighborhood) ER. They probably gave me a price break because I just about went into shock on the table when they could have seen me much earlier.
