One shot per trigger pull is all you get, unless you want to apply for Federal authorization to own a NFA Title 2/Class III restricted automatic weapon. Be prepared to shell out $17,000 or so for a civilian-transferable AK-47, assuming the Feds grant you a Form 4.

Outside those parameters, a .73 caliber (12-gauge) shotgun is the most lethal of NFA Title 1 civilian firearms; a single shell of 000 buckshot is equal to a long burst from a Title 2 restricted Uzi submachinegun.
