Why do people ask for personal information on business calls?
Advertisements [?]
I took a call from a place that wanted to verify our business address for a publication that we receive (I know we receive it; it's not one of those calls pretending to verify information so they can start sending stuff) and at the end of it the person asked me the color of my eyes for 'quality assurance purposes in case this call needs to be verified.' I told her that my eye color is none of her business and that was a really inappropriate question to ask on a business call but she just wouldn't give up and then asked if she could talk to my boss! I told her no.

Who comes up with this stuff? Wouldn't it be more appropriate on a business call to ask the color of the carpet or the walls? Why my eyes?
