As I said above to MrCoffee, I've worked in jobs where customers think you are there to wipe their feet on, and to take out their frustrations on, and it IS difficult to deal with, no doubt about it.

I deal with angry clients (though thankfully most of them are okay), snarky attorneys, rude doctors, etc., and there have been times when I wanted to let loose on them, believe me. And yes, I made a choice to do this job; no one is making me. And despite that, I am grateful that I am not working in customer service. That is why I always try to treat these workers politely and respectfully. Who knows what kind of jerk they may have just had to deal with.
