11. Met my wife online too....
I was in the UK, she was living in Kentucky. First thing that brought us together was her AOL profile: I contacted her via AOL IM after being amazed at how closely her interests matched mine. She had just broken up from a long-term relationship: my wife of 20 yrs had passed away from cancer two years before.

First night we chatted online for about six hours, then it became a daily thing. One night the system went down and she phoned. Cue daily phone calls which led to phone bills larger than the national debt of several small countries.:-)

We met in NYC a few months later and it was love at first sight as we knew it would be. Virtually bankrupted ourselves with Atlantic crossings for the next year or so. Married in Louisville: she moved to the UK six months later together with Cud and Frit, the American contingent of our of our six-feline, three-bunny menage.

Yes, it's been hard work. But it's all been worth it.

And now you guys need to get rid of the chimp so we can enjoy visiting y'all again.
