My wife's Hannukah gift got the Heisman

My grandparents are fairly open-minded individuals, and after seeing Jimmy Carter on the Tonight Show last week, we figured his book would be OK for my grandmother. My wife $ (pronounced Ka-ching) gave her the book last night. Instead of politely thanking my wife, my grandmother said "No thanks, take it back. I won't read it."

I have never seen such a thing, especially from my grandmother, who has been reigning Queen of Etiquette for some time.

This year, we didn't even make it through dinner without offending.

PS - For those who don't understand the Heisman reference, it refers to pushing away, like the trophy's stiffarm. Like my brother said about picking up women: "I gave her my best line, but she gave me the Heisman"
