That's not a stunning realization, I know, but it just never occurred to me how shamelessly grab-ass the whole mindset was. Primitive and regressive. Men are men, women are girls, and get me a goddamned martini already, toots.

Bob Hope was much the same way IMO. I'm sure that it's a generational thing, but the mere fact that the humor seems so sickeningly dated gives me some small glimmer of hope for societal progress.
