20. I use cold water, not hot.
The first turkey I ever cooked for Thanksgiving had to be thawed the night before because I had no idea I was supposed to take it out to thaw it days in advance. I was frantic as I was having my family over to my house and I didn't want to serve turkey pot pies as the main course.

I called a friend of mine's mother and asked her what I should do. She told me to take the bird, put it in the tub and run the cold water down it's neck until it thawed.

That was not the first time I had a turkey in my tub, but it was the first time I had a headless, winged, frozen turkey in my tub.
