2. It's interesting how history has gotten rewritten
It has become "cool" to ridicule the 60s, to boast about how "out of place" you were then (i.e. Cheney's wife's speech at the NaziCon2004), as though the Civil Rights movement, the antiwar movement, the explosive creativity of rock and roll were horrific abberations of a previously glorious society -- but the truth is, the people who were "out of place" during this time were dorks and authoritarians.

I'd be willing to bet the young man in this photo now works at the Heritage Foundation.- or for the RNC.
