10. Many of us are happy with the "3-volume" extended set.
Or will be when the last one is released. Due to the care with which the first 2 were produced, I don't think New Line was twisting anybody's arm.

It was suggested a "big" set might be due for the high-resolution re-release. Of course, all new "extras" would be required. (On one of the commentaries, PJ & his comadres considered re-ordering the scenes in the 3 movies; probably just an idea.)

And, yes, the Theatrical Edition of ROTK will be arriving at my house soon. Less than $20 at Amazon (including shipping). And I'll have plenty of time to watch it before winter comes.
