Poll question: Am I Turning Into a Ninny?

Just came back from seeing Kill Bill Vol 2 (it was great).

You know how theatres are running commercials before the films now? At Regal Cinema, in Nashville, they ran a Jack Daniels ad. The commercial went as thus: backstage concert door, dozens of adoring fans clamoring to sneak in. Along comes the lucky couple who flash a bottle of Jacks et voila! Instant passage.

Now granted, this is Nashville, where many people think it's their god-given right to mingle with artists, so if the ad is only running here - no big deal.

OTOH, I was never one of those rock fans who tried to get backstage as a kid, but I knew plenty who did, and some of my peers tried their hands at star-fucking. I was also fortunate enough to get so shitfaced as to puke my guts out and not remember a damn thing about the show — and it mattered — at a young enough age (15) that getting drunk at concerts never appealed again afterwards.

Anyway, I was pretty offended at the message (hard liquor + concerts = amazingly cool) the Jack commercial was sending.
