I mean, I still think fart jokes are funny.

But I'm really not sure what the objective with this kind of stuff is. I guess he is filming it for use at a later time, but I never got the point of completely infuriating an audience unless there is a payoff. Kaufman got dangerously close to that line sometimes, but at least in Memphis, there was a payoff - Jerry Lawler beating him in the ring. But when it left the ring, it just confused audiences. The Letterman appearance is rightly famous, but to this day, I don't understand what Kaufman and Lawler were doing.
