39. WWI and the Arm's Merchants
The old story that arms merchants somehow forced or tricked the US and other countries into WWI was debunked by Historians back in the 1950s. The 1930's "Devil Theory" that motivated the Nye Committee about the war was more a product of the time than of serious historical research.


Having said that, it doesn't change the fact that some men used the war to their personal advantage, and the fact that a Bush was among them doesn't surprise me in the least.
