89. Oh, but America does have a Gulag...
system. A higher percentage of our nation's population is in our prison system than any developed nation in the world. And perhaps more than all the nations in the world.

Drug laws prey on our underclass, disproportionately incarcerating minorities and the poor, while the more fortunate classes escape prosecution for the same crimes.

And those unfairly incarcerated are disenfranchised, stripped of citizenship, a perpetuation of Jim Crow America thriving to this day across our nation.

You draw parallels to the totalitarian excesses of Communism. But aren't the current actions of our leadership mimicking more closely the fascist tactics of the 1930's and 1940's? With concentration of wealth, corporate/party power structures, manipulation of the press through propaganda, manipulation of the political system and voting through corruption and party hegemony, reduction in civil rights, and the use of fear as a public political whip.

We are just awaiting our Kristal-night.
