...So long as they (and by extention we) have their hands in the middle east, so long as Al Quaeda et all consider it necessary to harm us in order to further their policy goals (a conclusion which is much easier to reach when we have thousands of troops in the region...) then the Brits (and Americans) will be terrorist targets.

If the right seriously believes (and I fear they do) that the 'terrorists' are attacking us because they're evil, rather than because the attacks further their policy goals, then we're only likely to make further blunders like the Iraq invasion that only encourages more terrorism against the first world.
